@BaseballMentors My state (WI) actually switched to spring ball partly due to this issue. Most of our drafted talent did not play HS and only travel. Not many Big time D1s will make the trip to WI for one player when they can go to a Tourney in Florida and see multiple.

@BaseballMentors As someone who played in the Midwest, where we played summer ball. I feel you. Most of us played travel over hs. Mostly due to exposure. If you didn’t make Var as a frosh then your best bet was to play club thru Jr year, then join hs for a state run senior year.

If you just finished your first season of high school baseball and you are now playing 14u summer baseball you are getting robbed & getting terrible advice. Same thing goes for a 2023 playing 16u, a 2024 playing 15u, etc. NEVER play down.
