Sgt. Cory Slifko died unexpectedly Tuesday evening while off duty. Sgt. Slifko was a respected twenty year veteran of the South St. Paul Police Department, and is survived by his wife and two young children. Our entire police department family is in mourning. He will be missed.

We are aware of a train derailment that occurred on the swing bridge over the Mississippi River Wednesday morning. This derailment resulted in the spill of 3,500 gallons of fuel. There is no public safety threat at this time. https://t.co/ID0Vro71Bf
South Metro units are on scene of a medium-size oil spill on Robert Street. A cleanup contractor has been notified and is on they way to assist. One lane of traffic on northbound Robert is closed, so delays are possible. @MnDOTtraffic
