@darrenlogan@waltham_science@marspetcare ....no, as it is'nt legally required and could be tricky from a marketing perspective. Lets face it. The manufacture & marketing of human food stuffs is (as proven hstorically) pretty darn dodgey. Pet food has no chance and the catalogue of recalls (inc Mars) demonstrates that.
@darrenlogan@waltham_science@marspetcare#channel4#mars#petfood Oo! A nice dodge, I like that! Thankyou for putting up with my awkwardness! I'll finalize by asking a simple question. Is it possible to get an 'exact' gram for gram breakdown of exactly what goes into a branded Mars pet food product? My guess would be...
@darrenlogan@waltham_science@marspetcare#channel4#mars#petfood Ah, 'moisture', i like that! But hang on, lets take 100g of wet pet food is 75g of water, sorry, 'moisture', and 12.5g of protein. Huh? protein content of liver say, is 25% so that would mean 50g of meat. But that pushes us to 125% even before cereals!
@darrenlogan@waltham_science@marspetcare I say water as looking at bacon, water is listed as an ingredient. Water obviously is a constituent of whiskas but isn't listed. I presume the legislation regarding pet food make up means it isn't necessary to list all content as we do for human food.
@darrenlogan@waltham_science@marspetcare Ah ok. So it's a percentage within a percentage within a percentage? Say the total animal based ingredient is what, 40%? (presumably water is also pretty high on the list? Then of that 40%, 4% is from a specific animal type, and then 8% of the total content is protein?
Little eggs available for little fingers to paint for Easter! Small eggs from young hens, also super tasty - lots of double yolkers! Available from Scorse Cafe in St Mawes Arcade.
Meet Larry. A young cockerel proving to be excellent at keeping the peace, breaking up any squabbling and generally looking after a big flock of hens. Not an easy task!
