@jazzkat@jacobgreber@ABCTV Hi Jacob, Dutton might be a funny & nice guy, but he has a hard right conservative ideology. Being a nice guy is beside the point.
Rent assistance is inadequate and unfair, more homes needed, housing policy ineffective to addressing homelessness: sobering statements many Australians already knew https://t.co/fsy0M6BGhM
@AlanKohler Hi Alan, I have just read a great article you wrote, re "why the reserve bank should oversee climate change". We need more sensible people like you speaking out. Join & actively participate SPA (Sust Pop Aust) & make a difference. Keep up your great reporting.
@michellegrattan Hi Michelle why don't we have fixed 5 year double dissolutions. We could divide the senate into 3 electorates in each state. This would link senators to their electorate & we may even know who OUR electorate's senators are & have a real saying who is elected.
@AntonyGreenElec How about set 5 year terms for all the Fed Parliament, with All the senate up for election, but divide each state into 3 equal (in voters) "electorates" that each elect 4 senators. We may then actually know our senators & they become OUR elected representatives
@AntonyGreenElec Hi Antony, as with many people I really enjoy your insight. However what I would like is to see seats won by LNP, Nationals & Liberal as The Coalition is not a party & you can't see how each party has performed.
Hi Gareth, Increased immigration keeps wages low & per capita growth & productivity low. Increased immigration is only good for the big end of town - lowers wages & more people to sell to.
@grhutchens Hi Gareth, infinite growth is not possible & chasing that dream is only good for the very well off, especially property developers & large retailers
@ABCthedrum Julia Baird. I am saddened to hear your rubbish talk re the world will fall in if we stop having population growth by We'll spoken Peter Martin. Julia please do some more research. Look at Australians for a Sustainable Population.
@ABCthedrum We don't need any more people. We don't need an economy based on our population growing. Countries like Germany & Japan don't have rising populations & their economies are not failing.
@thedrum I love overseas travel but I can wait another 2 years. My dad emigrated in 1957 & didn't see his family for 12 years. It is tough for those with family overseas but compared to those who came to Australia last century they have been very fortunate.
@KerryChika@ABCthedrum We don't need skilled immigration. We need to train Australians. And with tourism, we spend 30% more overseas than comes in. Immigration is a PONZI scheme.
@ABCthedrum @ellenmfanning Sick of hearing that we are creating debt that the next generation will have to pay off. Clearly don't understand how the money goes around. @AnnPettifor so that you can understand what the debt really means.
@ABCthedrum@InsidersABC Not surprising that those on the right are less keen on the COVID vaccine. For the last 20 years we have seen how the right have trouble believing in science.
@ABCthedrum@InsidersABC How about we have public housing for all ,not just the most disadvantaged, so that our right to housing is there for all. So it's time for Govts to build build build.
@t_coxsen@RonniSalt I used to see that clip and feel maybe it was a bit unfair pulling it out of context. But after... is it 5 new allegations of sexual assault, including of a 16yo by a current cabinet minister, he reacts by relaxing at the beach with a grin, it really packs a gut punch.
This is the film the Murdoch Press and Morrison Government don’t want you to see, the story of conservative forces conspiring to cut, gut and undermine our ABC. Watch now!
