Today my ELA classes kicked off “one book one school” with some pre-reading activities for our book Save Me A Seat by Sarah Weeks. Students had a chance to read and reflect on some quotes from the book before we started reading. @Chelsea_Tigers#WeAreChelsea
Today in our second step lesson, students got to know each other a little bit better. We learned how you can still be friends with people who are dofferent than you, but if you get to know each other, you will probably find something you have in common! @Chelsea_Tigers
Students enjoyed some structured word inquiry this morning with Mary. Today they were proving how words are related to each other etymologically. @Chelsea_Tigers#WeAreChelsea
This afternoon, my home room along with Mr.Becker’s home room had our first silent auction. Students could spend all the cash they’ve earned for their positive behavior from first quarter! @Chelsea_Tigers#WeAreChelsea
Students worked with a partner to read The Top of the World and research about Mount Everest. They are getting ready to write books about their research. @Chelsea_Tigers#WeAreChelsea
Today we celebrated the end of our narrative writing unit by reading each other’s stories and offering our feedback with the TAG strategy. We also enjoyed sitting by the fireplace. 😉 @Chelsea_Tigers#WeAreChelsea
My ELA students have been hard at work designing posters to share what they learned about bullying, and how they can help stop bullying. @Chelsea_Tigers#WeAreChelsea
