#PopeFrancis met today with seminarians & staff of the Pontifical North American College. Msgr. Powers, the rector, spoke on behalf of the group. And while the pope was greeting each person, the child of a staff member caught the attention of the Vatican Media photographer.
Hello from St. Peter's Square! Last month I started a new position as the Director of Liturgical Music at the Pontifical North American College in Rome, Italy. I look forward to this venture with my family and sharing our new life in Rome!
@FrHilderbrand If you are talking about an English version of "In Paradisum", my favorite is by Howard Hughes. If we're talking about the "Subvenite sancti Dei" (which I believe is what the Song of Farewell is supposed to be), the Old Hundredth version is the best I got.
@FrHilderbrand That’s something that I’ve been considering that I just need to pull the trigger on. We also do the ‘Requiem Aeternam’ chant (in Latin) right before the funeral begins, and I have found it to also be incredibly powerful.
Last weekend the @BergFootball team lost one of their players, Curtis Helman, to a tragic accident. To start today's game, they honored him by taking his jersey out for the kickoff, the unit he started on ❤️🏈
