Events unfolding at the border between #Spain and #Morocco pose a risk to the security of the European Union as a whole.

Illegal migration has to be combatted with all legal tools.

Everything that is illegal has to be tackled and shall never be encouraged.

The Spanish Government led by Prime Minister Pedro #Sanchez shall properly protect the borders of the Schengen area, shall apply European legislation and shall tackle illegal acts.

The swift formation of a new, pro European government demonstrates the strength of Moldova’s democratic institutions and its commitment to the European path.

With a pro European absolute majority secured by @Parliament_RM and the leadership of President @sandumaiamd, the new Government has the political support needed to continue reforms and keep Moldova’s EU accession process moving at the strong pace achieved in recent years.

Moldova's path to the European Union is moving forward.

Today, Cluster 6, External Relations, is officially opened in Moldova's EU accession negotiations. This comes just days after we, in the @Europarl_EN, called for opening all remaining negotiation clusters through an amendment I tabled.

We now expect the remaining four clusters to follow soon.

We will continue to stand firmly with @Parlament_RM and @GuvernulRMD throughout the accession process.

Europe keeps its promise to Moldova.

We just voted in the #EPlenary for the @Europarl_EN's annual report on #Moldova, with a strong majority.

We call for opening all remaining accession negotiation clusters without delay, condemn Russia's continued attempts to undermine Moldova's democracy, and call for stronger EU support.

Moldova's future is in Europe, and Europe's security depends on it.

The Republic of Moldova is making faster progress towards the European Union than any other candidate country.

In the @Europarl_EN #EPlenary debate on the Report on Moldova, we welcomed this progress and underlined that Moldovan citizens are already benefiting from European integration through closer cooperation and participation in more EU programmes.

Europe is delivering for the people of #Moldova.

We call for opening all negotiating clusters by the end of this year, continuing reforms and keeping up the momentum towards EU accession.

Today's ruling upholding Marine Le Pen's conviction exposes the same recipe used by extremists across Europe.

They attack the EU while abusing public money, promise easy answers without real solutions, and too often show sympathy for the Kremlin.

Extremism is about serving political interests, not citizens.

This is why we shall stay away from populist extremists.

If we expect Europe to do more, we must give it the resources to do so.

We, the @Europarl_EN, have already adopted our position on the next long-term #EUbudget, with security and competitiveness as new priorities, while continuing to support farmers, fishers and regions. Europe cannot do more with less.

We are bringing Moldova closer and closer to the European Union.

@GuvernulRo launched yesterday the works contract for the first motorway crossing over the river marking the border between #Romania and #Moldova, towards Moldova's capital, Chișinău.

Funded through the EU's #SAFE programme, this project will strengthen connectivity, boost investment, and reinforce the EU's security infrastructure at its eastern border.
