It’s been a good few years since I’ve poured or explored anything from The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS). However, that’s all about to change this evening, thanks to a delivery from the whisky fairy — in the form of this very intriguing-sounding release from their new ‘Two to One’ ultra-small-batch series.

Society No. 95.109 – I’ve Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts: 14 Year Old (62.4% ABV) is a single malt Scotch whisky that was initially matured in ex-Bourbon barrels, before being further matured in a refill Trinidadian rum barrel and a new American oak HTMC barrel.

Each release in the new SMWS ‘Two to One’ series, which combines two casks of single malt from the same distillery, is said to have undergone a unique journey from cask to bottle, resulting in a diverse array of styles, textures and flavours.

Quality aged single malt Scotch whisky part matured in rum casks, what’s not to love? I’m going in!
