We'll be forever amazed by the talents and inventiveness at Nasser Road โ a truly decolonized and revolutionary space.
Just as River Road in downtown Nairobi.
Charles Onyango Obbo @cobbo3 kindly wrote about the Nasser Road publication - "Nasser Road may be Uganda's most honest street because it admits that life here is often a performance staged for survival" @YusufSerunkuma@Katumbabadru1

So instead of reviewing safety standards we're going the easy route & burdening parents with organising pick-ups & drop-offs in the middle of the work-day?
This was clearly done with a lot of care for the masses.

The Government has, under the new Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) policy, banned nursery schools and kindergartens from operating daycare centres. The reform is aimed at separating early learning from childcare services to improve standards, regulation, and quality of early childhood education across the country. #OpenGovUg
Yesterday was World IP Day so this is timely.
For creatives, their work is their brand & their IP; understanding & protecting their ownership, digital rights & privacy is imperative.

Fuel rationing is ON. โฝ๏ธ
Field trip day and we passed 8-10 fuel stations without fuel, then the one we found is rationing at UGX 100k per car.
Brace for increased food prices โ and leave your car at home.
A Sunday Monitor farewell
As the Sunday Monitor bows out of print, it leaves behind more than ink on newsprint โ it leaves a lesson: journalismโs future lies not in nostalgia, but in reinvention.

So far I have received 1,823,000/ from you. That is about 105 reusable pad packs so far, for 105 girls.
Thank you so much. Keep them coming. Letโs change at least one girlโs year.
Yesterday, with my daughter, we visited Afripads, an organisation that makes and distributes reusable sanitary pads. My daughter is working on a school project (competence-based curriculum) where she seeks to learn and teach deprived girls how to make reusable pads. The project requires that they get a practical feel of the solution to a problem/challenge theyโre working on, not just theory.
Of course she learnt that it is more than it seemed to be, especially putting into consideration hygiene standards. But it was such a pleasure for me, as a girlโs father, being part of this conversation and learning about Afripadsโ innovation, which I think could help many girls and women that canโt afford the other market options. Their school girl kit (pack) costs 17,000/, carrying a set that can be used for one year +! My daughter left elated about her project and what she learnt ๐. Thanks @AFRIpads
Recently a stranger sent me a message asking if @AgoraCFR can profile the new Chief Justice. I told him we are so overwhelmed with all the arrests, the disappearances and the killings happening. He volunteered to do it and in less than a day he had sent it. Thank you @findsedward. It makes me happy to see people volunteering their time and money to this important work.
