A new study using micro-CT imaging to demonstrate a larger cortical osteocyte lacunar volume in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and microvascular disease compared with patients without MVD #openaccess#ASBMR@Snapastian@eth_bone @frost_nielsen

Finally, we show that lacunar volumes are smaller in the compact bone compared to the spongy bone in participants with type 2 diabetes. However, when comparing to published data on healthy individuals it is the opposite indicating a decrease of lacunar volume with T2D
Study out: In collab. with @eth_bone we found an increased osteocyte lacunar volume in type two diabetic individuals with microvascular disease. Thanks for everyone participating in this study! Click on the link for more infos: https://t.co/ijS9YGaoGR
