Amazon Lily: Arc Review 🐍🌺

Score: 8/10

This arc had an impossible task to follow up how Sabaody ended and I think it did a pretty good job doing so! It had mystery, introduced an important new character, had some great moments and began to bridge all the plots together.

The initial feeling of Amazon Lily was really interesting to me. After everyone got separated, I think Luffy getting thrown into an all-girl island like this was funny, mysterious and gave a really good introduction into Boa Hancock's character. The bits of lightheartedness were much appreciated here too. And the family jewels/mushroom scene was wild 😭🍄

The arc was short, packed in a lot of good moments and was overall enjoyable front to back! Only reason I didn't give it a higher score was it just didn't have AS many great moments as other great arcs, that's really it

Boa Hancock grew on me a lot throughout the arc of course, especially after her backstory. Before that her character was really fun to watch be ruthless asf, but now it feels somewhat justified even if she uses it selfishly a lot too lol 🐍

The Boa x Luffy dynamic is something I would not have seen coming in a million years 😹 I have no thoughts on it but it's definitely an interesting way to move the plot along

Luffy using the Conqueror Haki to that level was crazy!! I'm still a bit unsure what Haki is, I hope I didn't miss if it was explained somewhere at all since now Zoro, Luffy, and Shanks have used it. Also Boa seems to have it and warriors on this island were using it with their arrows? Idk, I'm sure it will be explained more later surely 👍

This arc had some side characters I enjoyed like Marguerite. Her rough dynamic with Luffy at first, saving him from drowning and then him immediately choosing to save her & the others when stoned instead of getting a ship was a great moment. And the way all the girls became Luffy fans during the banquet scenes lol. This arc was like nonstop reaffirmations of why we all love Luffy

The moment this arc started pushing the story forward with Luffy finding out about Ace, having to choose between saving Ace or meeting the crew, etc was SO GOOD. I WAS GETTING SO HYPED MAN. All these storylines finally clashing even more than they did in Sabaody is getting so crazy, I'm really excited to see more 🗣️

And we finally got to see where all the Straw Hats went!
- Nami on a sky island (sick), how tf she gonna get down lol
- Franky dancing in the snow (PEAK) and also we're gonna learn more about Dr Vegapunk now??
- Chopper and Usopp are fighting for their life against nature
- Sanji got his wish from a genie 😭
- Robin got teleported into a Studio Ghibli movie, that aesthetic was really cool tho
- Zoro and Perona together is so funny I can't wait to see more of that
- and Brook has now become an evil diety 💀

EXCITED TO SEE HOW IT ALL PLAYS OUT!!!!
