This week our members have been working hard to create ideas for our FIRST robot! On Saturday mentors came to our school to help guide and advise the SO BOTZ members. We are looking forward to a great start in our competition season!
Vanessa Lapins is a mentor for the software subteam. She has been on the team for many years and uses her knowledge in the technical field to help students overcome challenges when programming FIRST robots. We cannot thank her enough for everything she does for our team!
Jen Citrolo, is the public information specialist at SOCSD. Mrs. Citrolo has been working with our SO BOTZ members since 2017, as well as being a Finance and Marketing mentor. We would like to thank you for all you have done for our team and what you continue to do!
Joe Gottleib, the build mentor for SO BOTZ, has been working with our members for many years. He has dedicated his time, and teaches our members technical skills for the build season. We would like to thank you for all your hard work and dedication!
Our new members are being trained! Build or shop training is for students interested in learning new skills, such as using tools in the wood-shop. Training is very useful for students to learn essential life skills and connect further with the robot.
Last night we held our annual SO BOTZ parent night. Our leads did an amazing job informing the parents about the fundamentals of robotics. The connection between our members and parents is crucial to the team. Thank you to the parents and mentors for coming to support SO BOTZ!

This Saturday we competed in the Brunswick Eruption Competition. We tied for 4th out of 35 teams! Thank you to the North Brunswick Township High School for hosting the competition. We thank the Robo Raiders FRC Team 75, Raider Robotix Team 25, and Steel Hawks FRC Team 2601.
