🚨🇫🇷Captive orcas Wikie and Keijo are still languishing in deteriorating pools at the closed Marineland Antibes in France, and time is running out to save them. Here’s what you need to know:

Urgent situation: Since the park closed in January 2025, the mother and son orcas have been left in neglected, algae-filled tanks. Drone footage from mid-2025 revealed crumbling infrastructure, leading to fears for the orcas' well-being.
Legal deadline: A French law mandates the relocation of the orcas and other cetaceans by December 2026, but suitable sanctuary plans have been repeatedly blocked or delayed.
Failed relocation attempts: Proposals to move Wikie and Keijo to marine parks in Japan and Spain were rejected over welfare concerns. A bid to send them to the Whale Sanctuary Project in Canada was denied because the facility was not yet built.

Call to action: The clock is ticking for Wikie and Keijo. Animal welfare advocates are urging global pressure to find a safe and viable solution before the deadline.
