Hazir Imam spoke on loneliness among elderly and the youth and said, Such isolation saddened him greatly.
He urged the Jamat to bring such individuals back into the community by engaging them, and to make them feel part of the community, for this too is a noble form of service.
Every politician, whether from Punjab or Sindh, speaks Urdu in GB. But why Pathans from KPK speak Pashto in GB, where no one knows Pashto?
This is linguistic chauvinism, & it threatens the identity & language of Gilgit-Baltistan. We should reject such linguistic chauvinists.
Why this man speaking Pashto in GB, where no one knows Pashto?
Never accept such linguistic chauvinists in Gilgit-Baltistan who ignore our language and identity. If he wants to speak the regional language, he should speak the language of Gilgit-Baltistan
If you have nothing interesting to show to the world,it doesn’t mean that you falsely claim our place as yours.
I am from this area, and it is not Afghanistan, it is Gilgit-Baltistan Pakistan.
Linguistic chauvinists aren’t accepted in #GilgitBaltistan. We have our languages and identity. #Pashto is not a language of anyone in GB.
Politics aside, people of GB should reject such people who speak only their language while no one understands it.
Cities in Pakistan pump out emissions & valleys of GB suffer melting glaciers, floods & destruction.
We deserve climate justice that isn’t happening, higher prices for tourists here can protect the environment & generate climate finance for locals. Majority will disagree with me
Downcountry people who visit Gilgit-Baltistan think that they should be treated as privileged here.
Get out of this delusion, pals. Just because you have more disposable income & you’re from the mainland, doesn’t mean you have license to raze the local norms with impunity…
To my local brothers and sisters, don’t fall for this blackmailing mantra of hospitality(mehman nawazi) & don’t be overly mehman nawaz.
Charge them for the service you provide, be it mechanic, guide, or and even charge them for a single cup of tea, leave alone breakfast & lunch.
There are certain norms you need to respect.
Entering locals’ premises & orchards without permission, shaking hands with random children, giving them money, chocolates or gifts isn’t fine. When you get any service from locals, please pay, don’t blackmail in garb of hospitality..
