Solidarity with the Muslim community of the UK and all Muslim EPs.

These riots are the result of decades of Islamophobic and racist rhetoric and state sanctioned violence from the political/media class.

We need to call it out for what it is and confront it.

Spot the difference. Let me help you. @AEPsychologists have referred to the GFTU statement and then deliberately omitted the word Islamophobia, after copying and pasting the statement. Muslim members are contacting us saying they're feeling alienated beyond belief. Indefensible.

@edpsydan Shocking how these riots don’t stem from the ‘underground’ but from mainstream political and media opinion (eg chanting ‘stop the boats’).

Racism has been central to mainstream political hegemony, which is why it is tolerated far more than JSO who actually threaten capital.

Yes, v good points. The answer is no: even interim evaluation was put back, https://t.co/ndvfk7med1 ,meaning that the government which developed the policy would not have to face this. And DfE would not release, under FOI, names of all schools taking part. So v little scrutiny.

Progressive voices need to organise to drag Labour to the left and provide a real alternative, both inside Parliament and in our communities.

To the ‘get the Tories out’ contingent…Labour will win, they won’t solve any of the systemic problems in our society and this failure will lay the ground for a hard-right party to win 5 years from now.
