Coinbase Faces $1B Lawsuit After Delisting wBTC
Coinbase is facing a $1 billion lawsuit from BiT Global Digital Limited, which accuses the exchange of delisting Wrapped Bitcoin (wBTC) to promote its own product, cbBTC. The lawsuit alleges attempted monopolization, predatory practices, and false claims about wBTC’s compliance with listing standards. BiT Global, a joint custodian of wBTC’s reserves, claims the delisting caused financial losses and damaged consumer trust. Coinbase maintains that wBTC failed to meet its listing standards, but BiT Global argues the move unfairly favored Coinbase’s cbBTC product, raising concerns about competitive fairness in the crypto market.
