Toronto $5k Final Thoughts
Glad I had another opportunity to showcase Kennen, and happy I performed well twice in a row.
It was fun to ID for the first time, but it sucked to bubble out. I had to get unlucky at some point, and it's unfortunate that it happened with a 5% chance.
Congrats to the Top 8 that made it in! I'll make sure to give y'all a real challenge next time 😈
Here's the list that got me 6th place at the Ottawa Showdown!
List was based on the guide from @SouLWhoWanders with my own changes (you should check it out!)
Round 5
vs Fiora!? ✅✅
Had no idea what to expect, but we got there. Had to dodge Rampages and empowered Kayle to stay afloat.
Ended games by making hella gold and Star-crossing his big units to abuse the fact Fiora has no acceleration
Toronto $5k Match Recap 🧵
Round 1
vs Rek'sai ✅❌✅
Very interesting list that ran Chompers, 3x red Zed... was able to clear the board G3 with tentacles and reequipping Last Rites
Round 4
vs Jayce (Aurora) ✅✅
This is where my 1x Prefect came in clutch... G1 completely locked him out with an Abandon in hand as well.
G2 I sided in 2 more, Star-crossed, and bounced Elder to steal points with Nocturne + tentacles.
@TwistedTCG Awesome video! Didn't know you held those pickpockets for so long 😅
I still think they're strong when going 2nd, especially if I start with T1 seal + double stack/rush... What would you replace them with?
@stezzziii@SouLWhoWanders It's mainly for token decks where your goal is to clear the board and stall to find your Rhasas. Try sideboarding it in and see if it works for you - if not the Anglerfish is pretty strong too.
@Leer97@SouLWhoWanders It was for token and aurora decks to wipe the board and drop Rhasas. Nearly worked vs Rek'sai but played too slow.
I only saw Forge once in the mirror on double Minefield, so it didn't do much. I should've done either 2-3x or 0x (probably 0x).
TOP 8 (Round 12)
vs Kennen ❌✅❌
The rematch vs @Russ_TCG! Plenty of laughs throughout the match and learned a lot too :)
G1 I let him Gust my Fizz which cost me the game, despite having a big advantage from Abandoning his Ride.
G2 played on 10 runes to bounce his whole board and hold for the win.
G3 he went first and showed me why 3x Ride is better than 2x. He never left units for me to fight and stacked a battlefield for the 8th point.
Round 11
vs Mel ✅❌✅
G1 played just fast enough to avoid Mel + Researcher from ruining my day
G3 sided in 2x Star-crossed to bounce his Researchers and Last Rites my three Rhasas back on board
