The state legislature has been relentless in its efforts to preempt local government authority. MB State reps have voted in favor of removing the voter referendum, SB 180 and Live Local. How has your state rep voted? #votethemout
"In Florida, the intergovernmental power pendulum has swung dramatically toward the state. Once again, numerous bills in Tallahassee have been filed to preempt local government authority following the track of several prior legislative sessions."

One thing you have to give Lindsay Clancy's attorney credit for is the jury selection. He was presenting an insanity defense, and he got a bunch of mentally disturbed women on the jury. She truly got a "jury of her peers."
Trump says he sent hundreds of “his men” to the site of 9/11. What men? He was a white collar real estate developer not a construction contractor! Who the fuck was he sending? Jerry from accounting?
It looks like a lock. 🔒
We are witnessing history in the making.
There have been no hurricanes in the North Atlantic so far this year. 🌀
September 10th (Thursday) marks the climatological peak of the Atlantic hurricane season. And if we make it through Friday without one forming, which appears to be a lock now, it will be the first time in the satellite era (since 1966) that we have gotten this far into the calendar year without one hurricane formations in the Atlantic basin.
In fact, the last time that this happened was in 1941, but the lack of satellite observations mean that it is very likely we missed a hurricane or two out over open water that didn't make landfall and/or come into contact with an unfortunate ship.
If by some miracle we make it through September 21st without one, it will be the first time since 1914 (the only year other than 1907 where no hurricanes formed that season that we know of). But climatology is not in our favor, even with El Niño increasing the deep-layer vertical wind shear (change in wind speed or direction with height) in the 250–850 mb layer.
For non-weather geeks / non-meteorologists, shear suppresses tropical cyclone intensification because it tilts the storm's vortex, knocking the low-level center out of alignment with its mid- and upper-level convection. Shear imports low-entropy (cooler/drier) air into the storm's warm core, which dries the eyewall out, and causes the heat engine that keeps a cyclone organized to break down.
Some high school kids were talking and said “No way Gen X wrote 10-page papers without AI.”
Oh, honey.
We wrote them without reading the book…the night before they were due…by hand and in cursive.
We are not the same.
Flock cameras are becoming a weapon against women.
At least 26 rogue officers have reportedly used them to monitor exes or other women in their lives.
Taxpayers should not fund this technology. Ban federal funding for Flock cameras.
Federal taxpayers should not be forced to fund the surveillance state.
We just introduced HR 10221, the Flock-Off Act, to prohibit the use of federal funds for real-time surveillance cameras.
🚨 GOV. DESANTIS: “If we had [Flock cameras] around the country when COVID happened, you absolutely would have saw those turned on people who were outside of lockdown orders … Oh, you didn't take your vax? You can't go here.”
