@HutchWtiii Another comparison of Bloodchild and Kindred would be Dana wanting to protect Rufus and his slaves to preserve her own family lineage. While T'Gatoi works to protect Terran families and use them to further her bloodline.
@_jdl33 @USAOWTC Yeah! Rufus fr doesnt care about his actions or the consequences especially when it comes to Alice because he sees his actions as "love". Her rejecting his "love" is unacceptable to him.
@emnicfee For real! Cesaire really harped on the possibilities and the future of these civilizations but since they were crushed by colonization we'll never know.
#WTCKeynes I enjoyed Keynes inclusion of Adam Smith in this text. The thought of there being a little bit of Adam's ideal of working to bring contentment within us, is accurate because as we've discussed in class work can be our purpose.
@USAOWTtres @USAOWTC Throughout the article, Magritte was content with being a recluse who creates art but as soon as people tried to interpret his art with his own personal experiences, I'm sure it interrupted his lifestyle.
#WTCMag As people searched for the meaning of Magritte's works through freudian lenses it amplified the idea of bringing the subconscious to the conscious but through art.
#WTCMods How Sylvia Plath personified the mirror in the poem really gave me a modern feel. The line "Then she turns to those liars, the candles or the moon," really drives home that our image is always present.
#WTCEliot I'm lines 84-86 Prufrock feels so unimportant in his life because he knows other laugh at him and he feels that his best times are behind him. He believes he has done nothing significant in his life, so Death is there laughing and waiting to take Prufrock.
@LeeDilemma@HannahF56145168@USAOWTC Yeah!, also when he compared the life activities of humans and animals. He explained animals are one with their life activity and human life activity is built on will and consciousness. So yeah workers need to be valued and value their work.
#WTCRom Wordsworth had a deep connection to nature and you can feel it in his poetry. I understand that the feeling of being engulfed by nature (sublime) is adaptable to time and returning to nature can revive that relationship.
#WTCPBS I'm interested in Percy's idea of the passivity of the mind. He wrote that the mind is passive to new beliefs because of insufficient evidence. I wonder what his thoughts would be on cognitive dissonance?
@Kylie_Hudson07 @USAOWTC It's also interesting when Victor is procrastinating he thinks of how the 2nd creature could potentially hurt him. Victor thinks what if the female companion doesnt keep the promise of staying away from people. He is not focused on making his first creation happy.
#WTCFrank2 Mary Shelley really brought this story full circle because Victor chased the dream of creating life then chased his creation till his death.
#WTCFrank1 I identify with Victor as a student. Like most students, he is consumed by his work and he forgets to communicate with his family yet they are on his mind.
#WTCSatan In the article it mentions that Blake revisioned the traditional Christian story because of decline in the belief that the devil exists and the development of the Satan myth.
