A Final Act of Love for the Woman Who Gave Me Everything

I purchased Twitter Premium today for one reason: to tell you the full story of my mother, my hero.

In 1997, I lost my father. From that day forward, my mother shouldered the world alone. She worked tirelessly, sacrificed endlessly, and loved me unconditionally, raising me single-handedly. She is the reason I am the person I am today. She is my foundation.

When she was diagnosed with ALS, a cruel disease that wastes away the body, there was no question in my mind. I quit my career two years ago to become her full-time caregiver. It was a small, insufficient repayment for a lifetime of her love. It has been my greatest honor to care for her as she once cared for me.

Now, our world has been shattered again. A severe lung infection has landed her in the hospital. The muscle wasting from the ALS has her in agonizing, relentless pain in all four limbs. She hasn't slept a single night in 14 days. Watching the strongest person I have ever known be brought to her knees by this pain is a heartbreak I cannot describe.

For two years, I have been by her side with no income, relying on our savings. Now, those are exhausted. The medical bills for her hospital stay, her specialized care, and the equipment she needs for any semblance of comfort are piling up and are completely overwhelming.

So today, I am swallowing my pride and following her example of doing whatever it takes. I am humbly asking for your help.

Any donation you can make will go directly to her medical expenses. It will fund the care that might finally bring her relief from the pain and allow her to rest. It will help me ensure her comfort and dignity in this fight.
