The Dutch documentary "Guru in Disgrace", about the abuse committed by Sogyal Rinpoche and the way in which Rigpa enabled it, is now available for rental internationally with English subtitles. It includes testimony from several of the letter writers. https://t.co/KfURwE5Thc
Wouldn't it be nice and very Buddhist to remind @DalaiLama for his Anniversary about his 2018 promise he made (there are audio recording proving it online) to organize an international meeting in India about Tibetan Buddhism allegations of sexual abuses crimes ?
The trailer for the Dutch documentary about Sogyal Rinpoche and his abuse of students is online. Link to English version below.
The programme will first be broadcast on Sunday 13th December at 15:00 on NPO2. Details here:

The broadcast date has been announced for a Dutch documentary about the Sogyal Rinpoche abuse scandal in Rigpa. Should be interesting viewing, even for the non-Dutch. Will post information about its availability when that's published. See translation below

The CEO of the Charity Commission, Helen Stephenson expressed her dismay about what Sogyal Rinpoche was allowed to do to students and the part the Rigpa leadership played in permitting ongoing harm. See the press release here:

Paul Brusa, National Leader of @RigpaUK from 2012 and trustee for many years before that, stepped down a few weeks ago. Despite the reports, he has made no apology to abuse victims and never acknowledged that Sogyal did anything wrong. This shows what he and Rigpa really think.
It's clear that despite the horrific revelations of Sogyal's decades of abuse, influential senior students did not want any change to be made. Only by acting as if they had now distanced themselves from these people were @RigpaUK able to save themselves.

The @ChtyCommission report confirms that @RigpaUK concealed knowledge of abuse allegations for years and then feigned concern once contacted by the Commission.

One of @SogyalRinpoche's oldest students and key trustees, who oversaw the independent investigation, Susan "Bunny" Burrows, is shown to have lied about what she knew and betrayed the trust of abused women who confided in her. https://t.co/wnMMGxi86y
The report of the @ChtyCommission clarifies that Patrick Gaffney lied to them about his knowledge of abuse and was unfit to be a trustee. His behaviour shown as both delusional and dangerous. Nonetheless, he has been living an Lerab Ling and teaching internationally from there.
The report of the @ChtyCommission into Rigpa UK is out. All the accusations of sexual, physical and mental abuse are upheld. Rigpa UK have tried to save themselves, by ostensibly severing connections with Rigpa International and ticking safeguarding boxes

6 weeks after receiving the independent report into abuse by Dagri Rinpoche, the leadership of @FPMTInc have accepted its findings. Over two years after receiving the independent report about @SogyalRinpoche, Rigpa still won't accept he did anything wrong. https://t.co/kroHziYNgF
This is an extremely interesting seminar about sexual abuse within a wide variety of religious organisations, but including a significant chunk specifically about Rigpa and Sogyal Rinpoche starting at 32:30, with Michelle Tonkin and Mary Finnigan speaking

@FinniganMary@InformReligion It was posted on the page of one of the key people in the Alliance for Buddhist Ethics, who spoke alongside her at the Sakyadhita International Conference on Buddhist Women in 2019: https://t.co/6vEVH3mO9M I assume it was authorised. https://t.co/fkVj7xYHd6
A former nun, assistant to Sogyal Rinpoche, lays out how Tibetan Buddhist ideas were used to enable and justify everything from beatings to rape. Rigpa leaders remain silent about their role in facilitating and covering up this abuse. @InformReligion

Philip Philippou, you're not forgotten, nor the secrets you keep about @SogyalRinpoche's abuse, nor your failure to protect, nor your failure to apologise for your role. Yet here you are discussing how to pump more money into the Irish temple folly whilst rape victims get nothing
Good to hear, @HarperCollins. Now isn't it time you ceased publishing The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying - written by a serial rapist who had sex with minors and is on record saying that beating students was good for them?
