In IFAS our research is diverse & we are spread across the state. As a limnologist I still left with new ideas. For UF dpts with faculty/students at RECs, I highly recommend that grad students take the time to visit! Special thanks to Dr. Cheryl Mackowiak for helping coordinate.
Just finished collecting over 600 #soil samples at multiple locations around the southeastern US. It was super fun!! I will be evaluating the effect of #fertilization on #spatial variability of various #phosphorus indices in soils. Let the analysis begin!!

Nutrients, like #phosphorus, stick to the rust-like minerals in soils. When #microbes use iron for respiration, the phosphorus “un-sticks” and becomes mobile. This un-stuck phosphorus can be an important source of nutrients for plants. https://t.co/1VvE641NHh
