A recently published meta-analysis looks at study-trends in any association between cannabis and cardiac events. No significant association was found.

"Cannabis and Adverse Cardiovascular Events: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Observational Studies" analyzed 20 observational studies involving a total of 183,410,651 patients. The findings indicated that cannabis use was NOT significantly associated with an increased risk of acute myocardial infarction (MI = heart attack), stroke, or adverse CV events.

Even so, always important to consider that, with any meta-analysis, there is heterogeneity among the studies included (and the people within those studies), and therefore hard to tease apart individual effects. Nonetheless, the overall trend does provide some reassurance. If major effects were there, nobody would expect them to be wash away when many are grouped together.
My own impressions is that there probably IS some increased risk w/ certain vulnerable populations (folks with pre-existing cardiac abnormalities or risk factors), but NO significant risk for a general population that has no trouble handling the sorts of heart rate and blood pressure changes that come with moderate exercise.
