Went to see Jackie Chan’s “The Shadow’s Edge” first thing this morning!!
Holy…this was INSANE!!!! I couldn’t get enough!!! Absolutely incredible!!!
From the opening shot to the very last moment, it’s an all-out feast: action, espionage, pacing, thrills, drama, set pieces and of course “Jackie,” all packed in.
The contrasts are brilliant: analog vs. digital, AI vs. the pursuit team, youth vs. battle-hardened veterans across generations. The brutal showdown between Jackie Chan (71) and Tony Leung Ka-fai (67) was staggering. And yes, the traditional bloopers during the end credits made me feel like crying.
Zhang Zifeng was excellent as He Qiuguo.
Getting to watch this at the end of the year made me genuinely happy.
Highly, highly recommended. I want as many people as possible to see it. Not seeing this would be a real loss. Honestly, it deserves to be a smash hit.
