When I first came up with the concept for this game, I had the chance to present it to Yu Suzuki.
I was honestly so nervous — he was already a legend when I joined the company.
When he praised the concept, I was truly happy. For a moment, I felt like I was that rookie from 20+ years ago again.

@AngryJoeShow For all intents and purposes, this is a "new IP" for the general audience. Even the first Spider-Verse movie "bombed" at the box office, and that's SPIDER-MAN. It found its audience later on Netflix.
@AngryJoeShow Every time something awesome MOTU related is released, I am reminded how the "fans" don't deserve any of it. I am so happy we got this movie even if they decide to not make more, but I really think it shouldn't be judged by the first movie's theatrical numbers alone.

Should be common knowledge by now, but as we always remind people, Amazon and Big Tech in general see theatrical just as extra money and a way to add pedigree and cultural relevance to their titles before those titles hitting their domains. Big Tech’s endgame will ALWAYS be what the movies will bring to the table once they debut on Big Tech’s own platforms, including subscriptions, sales, time spent exploring the platform and the juicy personal-targeted ads!
In 2025, #Amazon generated $68B from ad revenue alone, a +22% growth from 2024 (and 2x what the Global #BoxOffice made over the same period)
They definitely don’t rely on theatrical money financial-wise, nor greenlight movies accordingly to theatrical #BoxOffice prospects. They do rely on eyeballs seeing and watching ads in their apps and websites, and the more culturally relevant content they have to keep increasing ad-watching, the merrier.
@sylabdul If they can make them with the same quality, I'll live with that. Better than nothing at all. Gotta say, though, I'll miss the theatrical experience, because I loved it both times I saw the movie.
