As a Nigerian, The moment you love your job and you're consistently available, There's a plot thicker to confirm you're either skimming or there's a loophole to steal.
Its never about if you love you job or you're passionate 😭
Speaking of being broke in uni, mine was funny ‘cus I didn’t see it coming 😂
When we resumed first semester 200L, one of my senior colleagues asked to come lodge with me ‘cus he didn’t want to renew his rent since he had only 6months left to graduate
Meanwhile, I had stocked half bag of rice, couple congos of beans and some paints of garri in my apartment in Agbowo
I still had about 300k left in my Aza I felt untouchable
I had decided I was going to contest for an SUG post in 200L, so I moved all my clothes to my friends hostel on campus - Tedder Hall precisely
I never went home until late second semester which was a week to the SUG election
Every dime I had with me had been spent on campaign materials and logistics. Left with less than 5k
I went home with the mindset that I had foodstuffs that I could survive on until money comes in
When I entered my room, the first sign of trouble was that the bros living in my room was eating bread and Fanta I didn’t clock it 😂
I settled in and picked up the gas to cook, no gas.
I carried the gas cooker, went on the street and filled it up
I got back, light the gas and positioned a clean pot filled with water on it
Then I went to the plastic that I left in first semester filled to the brim with rice.
You know there is a way you will attempt to carry something you believe was heavy, it will be different from how you approach something lightweight 😂
I thought the plastic was heavy so I tried to lift it with force
I nearly hit my head on the wall because it was empty and the force I exerted was too much
I opened every plastic, no rice, no beans, no garri
On my life, I sat on the bed and cried!! 😭😂
This nigga saw me going outside to fill up gas but didn’t think it was necessary to tell me there was nothing to cook
After I was done crying, I swear to God I didn’t say a word. I simply picked my bags and went back to campus
I started roughing it with the boys. A week after, we had the general election and I won.
I never went back to that apartment until he graduated and left.
I can’t start to narrate how I survived that period. I was taking and drinking water out of the hostel tank because I couldn’t afford #50 pure water.
Thank God for life bro.
Uncomfortable truth Real Madrid fans need to accept:
No coach will be able to get the best out of this team as long as Kylian Mbappé is our striker. So he needs to leave.
Kylian Mbappé scores goals but breaks the team system. Vinícius carries the team on his shoulders and doesn’t need goals to play well for the team. That’s the difference.
Mbappé needs the team to play for him so he can perform. Vinícius Júnior plays for the team. Simple.
Kylian Mbappé doesn’t press and never will even if the team is two men down. He cares more about the Pichichi than getting three points.
Kylian Mbappé = stats.
Vinícius Júnior = sacrifice + impact. True Madrid fans know the truth.
Goals won’t hide it, Kylian Mbappé disrupts more than he delivers. Vinícius Júnior holds the team together.
You can build around Vinícius. You have to adjust for Kylian Mbappé and at that he still won’t press.
Kylian Mbappé wants freedom. Vinícius Júnior gives everything. That’s why one fits Madrid, the other doesn’t.
Take Kylian Mbappé out, the system still works. Take Vinícius out, everything collapses.
Vinícius jr has faced racism, boos, and criticism but he still gives everything for Madrid every game.
