After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.

I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.

It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC.

تحذير:

خلال الحروب والصراعات تنشط جهات تمتلك خبرة كبيرة في إشعال الخلافات بين الشعوب. تستخدم هذه الجهات منصات التواصل الاجتماعي لنشر الانقسام، ودقّ الأسافين بين الناس، وإثارة الفتن بين هذا الطرف أو ذاك. وهذا الجهات باتت معروفة للجميع.

نرى اليوم مثالاً واضحاً على ذلك؛ فهناك من يحاول الانتقام من الفلسطينيين بتأليب بعض العرب ضد الفلسطينيين بحجة أن بعض الفلسطينيين يؤيدون إيران. في الوقت نفسه تنتشر مئات الحسابات المشبوهة التي تعمل على خلق البلبلة، فتهاجم طرفاً ما لتدفعه إلى مهاجمة طرف آخر، ثم تقوم بتضخيم بعض المنشورات أو اقتطاعها من سياقها ونشرها على نطاق واسع لإشعال مزيد من التوتر.

الحروب اليوم لا تُخاض فقط بالصواريخ والطائرات، بل أيضاً عبر الفضاء الرقمي. لذلك ينبغي الحذر من الجهات التي تسعى بكل الوسائل إلى نشر الفوضى وإثارة النزاعات بين الشعوب من أحل مصالحها الخاصة، بل وقد تلجأ أحياناً إلى تنفيذ أعمال قذرة ونسبها لجهات أخرى بهدف التحريض وتأجيج الصراعات بما يخدم أهدافها العسكرية أو السياسية.

لذلك، من المهم التحلي بالوعي وعدم الانجرار وراء الحملات الممنهجة أو المحتوى المثير للفتنة، وعدم المساهمة — بقصد أو دون قصد — في تنفيذ هذه المخططات التي تقوم على مبدأ تفريق الناس وضربهم ببعضهم البعض لتحقيق مصالحها القذرة.

كونوا واعين، ولا تسمحوا لأحد بأن يستخدمكم أداة في معارك لا تخدم إلا أصحابها.
