Now lets get some Justice and no lessons learned just plain old consequences and punishment. People need to go to Jail for this and maybe its the first domino in getting Justice for all the other cover ups. #Hillsborough #Postoffice #Contaminatedblood #Waspi etc.etc

Today's news that evidence on 20 companies and 54 individuals relating to the Grenfell Tower fire, which resulted in the deaths of at least 72 people in 2017, has been handed to the CPS, is a welcome step towards justice. https://t.co/MiH672hmFJ

[Fire Brigades Union @fbunational]

🚨 The FBU has won unanimous backing from the TUC for its demand that all those responsible for the Grenfell Tower fire are brought to justice.

Despite next year marking a decade since 72 people lost their lives in the fire, no prosecutions have taken place.

"Embattled South East Water abandons bond issue as investors flee sector."

The message is getting though, the vulture capitalists and fat cats have finally worked it out, the days of fleecing water customers is over, water companies are no longer a cash cow but a massive lability.

Even more reason that we nationalise the lot of them, starting with South East Water and Thames Water, today.

The UN Human Rights Council just confirmed US blockade against Cuba violates human rights and international law, citing Article 33 of Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits collective punishment.

The US is starving and killing babies in Cuba just like Israel is starving and killing babies in Gaza.

The U.S. sanctions against Cuba must be lifted immediately. This’s a crime against humanity.

Neoliberalism and the UK

Worker share of gross value added down from 71.9% in 1975 to 59.7%.

1.23m on zero-hour contracts.

4.4m don't get the real living wage.

Poorest 20% pay higher proportion of income in direct/indirect taxes than the richest 20%.

1 trillion litres of water a year, 20% of all water pumped, lost in England through leaky pipes.

41.4trn litres lost since privatisation.

Money siphoned off to investors.

At the current rate of investment it will take 700 years to replace water network.

I will point out again Clement Attlee LABOUR PRIME MINISTER.

Nationalised Water, Rail, Healthcare and Housing and created more than 2,000,000 jobs working for the Government in just 5 years.

That. Is. How. It. Is.

DONE

This is a huge human health issue, as well as an environmental crime.
The privatised water companies have failed us. Time for *renationalisation*.

Recruiter places ‘phoenix’ firm in liquidation months after repurchase erased £3m debt, incl £647k to HMRC.

Back in business 3 days later by buying the same assets. Process repeated. Employees, creditors robbed

Happens all too often.

Need prosecutions.

England's privatisation experiment is a historic debacle

Scotland has water in public ownership. They
- Invest 35% more into their infrastructure
- Pay £107 less on average for water
- 66% of their rivers have good ecological status, compared to England's 14.5%

Australia says data centres need to bring their own green energy - why isn't the UK insisting on the same?

Have a listen to South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas,

"As data centres come on line and bring their own demand for energy, they bring their own supply of power"

[Prem Sikka @premnsikka]

Say NO to mutualisation of water in England.

Shareholders/Lenders would become bondholders, receive interest payments.

New entity would be burdened. It would pay more to borrow than the govt.

Welsh Water is mutualised, 41% of its revenue services debt.

Sunak Built Teesside Freeport. Now He Advises Anthropic, The Company Positioned To Take the Profit.
Rishi Sunak announced Teesworks as his flagship Brexit freeport as Chancellor in 2021.
More than £600 million in public money followed, against a standard £25 million seed capital allocation. The freeport is now effectively closed.
Its auditors are refusing to sign off the accounts.
The public body overseeing it carries £420 million in debt.
The site is being repurposed as an AI Growth Zone.
