🚨 BREAKING: 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL REPORTEDLY RAPED BY STRANGER IN SOUTHAMPTON WOODLAND 🚨

Police have launched an urgent investigation after a 14-year-old girl reported being raped by a man she did not know in broad daylight.

The attack was reported in a wooded area off the Wide Lane roundabout, near Mansbridge Road in Swaythling, Southampton, on Sunday afternoon.

And isn’t it remarkable how detailed the description becomes when the suspect is described as pale or sandy-skinned? Hair colour, hairstyle, beard length, clothing, footwear, build and tattoo, all published immediately.

That level of detail is exactly what the public needs to help identify a dangerous suspect. So why does it so often feel like descriptions become vague, delayed or absent in other cases? Public safety must come before political sensitivity, regardless of the suspect’s race or background.

Police are urgently appealing for anyone who was nearby between 2pm and 3.10pm to come forward.

The suspect is described as:

Pale or sandy-skinned
Tall and skinny
Aged in his 30s or 40s
Greasy blonde, curtain-style hair slicked back
An inch-long dirty-blonde beard
A tattoo resembling scribbles or writing on one arm
Blue skinny jeans
A dark, short-sleeved top that was short at the back
Beige or white plimsoll-style shoes

Specialist officers are supporting the girl while police review CCTV and conduct enquiries across Swaythling.

A 14-year-old child should be able to walk through her community without suffering an unimaginably horrific attack. Somebody may recognise this description or have CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage. Check it now.
