L CATTERTON NEARS ACQUISITION OF HYROX FOR $700M
L Catterton is close to buying a controlling stake in Hyrox, the fitness racing series, in a deal that would value the brand at about EUR600M ($697M).
Launched in 2017 by Christian Toetzke and Moritz Furste, Hyrox hosts indoor fitness events monetizing from race entries, licensing to gym partners, sponsorship and merchandise.
Estimates place Hyrox’s 2025 revenue at ~$156M and reported ebitda at ~$35M. The company projects $270m this year.
The $697M valuation based on 2025 figures prices Hyrox at 4.46x sales and 19.9x ebitda. Sources report the company has only raised $17m of outside capital.
Comps:
- L Catterton acquired solidcore for $650M at an estimated 4.3x sales and 13x ebitda
- Lifetime trades at EV of $13.7B at 4.3x sales and 16x ebitda
AI is doing something similar to mental work. In a few years, solving problems yourself, writing without AI, or coding unaided may become the equivalent of going to the gym, call it a mental workout
A few decades ago, machines automated most physical labour. We moved to office jobs, and now we voluntarily lift weights, run marathons and do Hyrox to stay physically fit.
I’m calling it. Amazon will be the surviving #2 player in quick comm. The others, Swiggy, Zepto, BB, etc. are ngmi. Blinkit is obviously the undisputed #1.
Dot & Key scaling to 1800cr post Nykaa acquisition makes it one of the best M&A deals in the consumer space in India. And the fact that a meaningful portion of this GMV comes from non-Nykaa channels is a big win.
