@anishmoonka The 1972 case is disputed as a great white. The shark attack files seem to think so, listing it officially in their catalog. Personally having seen multiple California pods, NONE of them begin a hunt by "biting" an animal, instead they use speed to knockout the prey. So 0 harmed.
@DjsAviation 737-7 or E2, just because as an American I want all the A220 delivery slots to be for Delta, Jetblue and Breeze (who are already the 3 largest operators ;)
@joaocbarb@FlightEmergency@AirNavRadar Thanks! What specific conditions warrants this turn at flaring height? In other videos of go arounds at FNC RWY23 I see a standard turn https://t.co/YgmQMzG7wZ , so I'm guessing there's a specific condition (weight/wind/temp?) that calls for a turn at 20' instead of 400' AFE?
@MartinEntwisle@FlightEmergency@AirNavRadar Correct, I don't fly to FNC. Tell me more about this extraction maneuver, how come all other go around video from RWY23 have them going to a standard ~400' AFE before turn, what specific conditions made this one different from others including Easyjet https://t.co/Hnx24xbBG8
@garrylasagne@tywojci In those days it was easy to visually tell engines apart, nowadays you can't do that easily (GEnx looks same as Trent 1000, PW1000G looks same as LEAP, etc). THIS is what PW6000 looks like on an A318. As you noted in your later replies, yes AF like Frontier used CFM56s on A318s.
@Turbinetraveler Great record on Spirit's part, though they aren't the only ones with this claim (current or historical). JetBlue, Frontier, Breeze (new but sizable fleet), Virgin America, US Airways (under that name, under USAir there was tragically several like a rudder hardover event on B733)
@YKM279@JaguarCat_@Turbinetraveler Here's source from Boeing itself, though no idea why they counted the A320neo's collision with a firetruck (only A320neo loss in 44 million hours) in which all onboard survived as a fatal here (RIP firefighters). Yes most accidents are pilot error, but modern designs lessen them.
@JaguarCat_@Turbinetraveler The only hull loss of an A320 in the US was US Airways, there's never been a fatal A32x accident in USA despite being the largest operator(same for China, 2nd largest operator). Combined Frontier, Breeze, Jetblue, Spirit, Virgin America are >800 planes(6x Qantas) with 0 hull loss
@VictorSweeny@TatsunokoCroi@Turbinetraveler USA has the largest Airbus fleet & there has never been a fatal accident involving a FBW Airbus, 1 hull loss being Hudson(same for China, 2nd largest Airbus fleet). Between Frontier, Breeze, JetBlue, Spirit, Virgin America are >800 planes (6x Qantas fleet) combined 113yrs flying
SPIRIT: We shut down because oil prices spiked after Trump attacked Iran.
MAGA: nu uh, it was Biden and the merger.
SPIRIT: No, it is because of Iran. And the judge that blocked the merger- which would make no difference here - was a Reagan appointee
MAGA: FAKE NEWS!!!! What does SPIRIT know about the closure, anyways!!!! TRUMP 2028! FUCK THE CONSTITUTION!!!
@EmpireEnjoyer3@CliffConnolly Nah the A32x platform is not a fundamentally flawed design requiring compromises that requires 9000ft runway to takeoff and approach speeds of 160kts. Same could be said for clean sheet Boeing designs. Problem is 737 should've been replaced 30 years ago.
@CliffConnolly Same can be said for Frontier 174 A320s, JetBlue 220 A320s, 50 A220s, Virgin America 70 A320s. 0 hull losses among any of these operators. Combined they flew many times more flights than Qantas.
