@CoinbaseDev's x402 v2 is moving forward with a PR adding Permit2 as an EVM settlement mechanism.

EIP-3009 stays preferred where available (e.g. USDC), but Permit2 unlocks gasless payments with almost any ERC-20—especially important for agents that shouldn’t manage native gas or token-specific approvals.

Under the hood: the canonical Permit2 contract + a small proxy that binds each payment to its destination. Result: a standardized, gasless flow even for tokens without EIP-3009.

Take our 10sSoon social experiment as an example:
• outcomes mint 10s
• SOON is used to play
• SOON spent by users or agents flows into the treasury

x402 is more than payments for SOON.

To enhance capital efficiency and support the long-term value of the $SOON token, we are undertaking a strategic reallocation of on-chain liquidity.

Our ongoing tracking and analysis indicate significantly higher liquidity demand for $SOON on BNB Chain and Basd compared to the Solana.

Based on this data and feedback from our community, we will add liquidity on BNB Chain and Base to increase the depth and stability of these primary pools. Consequently, liquidity on Solana will be reduced.
