Sophists & Sophiettes, we proudly present to you Logic on the Lawn -Kikao II.
Following our most attended lecture, which happened in June, members of the community that missed out have been asking for rerun. And now we have the deluxe version.
This Mashujaa Day (Tuesday 20 OCT) ,we shall meet at Michuki park firva day of discussing contemporary female philosophers and touching grass. All are welcome.
Why does the truth feel increasingly slippery in contemporary political and social life?
Alenka Zupančič, in works like Ethics of the Real, cuts through the comfortable illusions of modern ideology. She pushes us to examine how systemic crises manipulate our desires and how genuine ethical action requires confronting uncomfortable truths rather than retreating into comfort.
How do we construct a meaningful life when external systems feel unstable?
From Philippa Foot's exploration of natural goodness to Alenka Zupančič’s critique of modern ideology, contemporary women philosophers challenge us to look past simple answers.
Excited to finally have my official writer’s website which is now live. ✨

Fun fact: In the two primary muslim canonical collections (Sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim), over 300 Hadiths were narrated by a woman; her name was Aisha ra and
Across all major collections, she narrated over 2,200 hadiths, making her the third most prolific narrator overall in Islamic hadith scholarship (behind Abu Hurairah and Abd Allah ibn Umar) and by far the primary female source of Prophetic traditions.
She was one of the 7 major Muftis when the prophet pbuh died she actively audited other scholars correcting over 60 legal rulings (Istidrak) to set foundational standards for Islamic jurisprudence.
and was in fact the core bedrock for Islamic personal and family law;
Imam al-Zuhri said of her ;
لو جُمِعَ علمُ الناسِ كلِّهم، ثم علمُ أزواجِ النبي ﷺ، لكانت عائشةُ أوسعَهم علمًا
“If the knowledge of all the people were gathered together, and then the knowledge of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ,
ʿĀʾishah would be the most expansive of them in knowledge.” This is recorded by al-Ḥākim in his Mustadrak
Modern society is buckling under systemic weight: political fragility, economic inequality, ethical confusion around tech, and shifting social contracts. Women consistently absorb the highest cost of these failures through formal and informal gendered precarity such as unfairly compensated labor in the first case and cultural sterotypes and attitudes in the latter.
That is why, as our presenters for Kikao II, intend to show, the most critical philosophical interventions today come from women thinkers.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone that made it to our blast session and participated in the engaging discussion. And to the presenter as well for a well conducted session.
Details for our next meet up coming soon.
