A free weekly 5K run held on Southampton Common

It was a grey and dank morning for our parkrun on Southanpton Common - mild and still nevertheless.

We had another 1000+ parkrunners and parkwalkers crossing the finish line. A big thank you for all the support of our wonderful volunteers and RD Gil McClure for being in charge.

However, you choose to do it, the encouragement of your fellow parkrunners is always great to see.

The puddles today didn’t dispel our parkrunners and parkwalkers. Once again we had over 1100 happy and smiling finishers.

Congratulations to our RDs Malcolm and Jill White for reaching their 500th finish.

We couldn’t have landed a better day for the return of the sunshine on Saturday morning, and just in time for our Southampton parkrun.

A lovely mild February morning is in store for our parkrun #533 tomorrow morning - 10 degrees Celsius.

Your RD is Nic Woollard and we have over 50 amazing volunteers lined up to help with the set up and close down as well as all of the supporting roles from the start to finish.

A slightly warmer morning (could you call it that compared to the freezing temperatures in the week 😊) saw just over 1k participants wind their way across The Common for your morning parkrun.

Joined 847 other runners @Sotonparkrun this morning. It makes it motivating to get out and run 5km when you know there’s going to be so many people on the start line. Not a PB but a fun run anyway!
