So honored that you were there. Soulforce was a key part of my growth as a queer person and a person of faith. My whole life changed, in all the best ways, because of the work I did from 2007-2010. So much of who I am today tracks back to this org! (-brian)
Be clear on what you’re willing to share and what you’re not willing to share in regards to your faith and identity. Set firm boundaries. No is a complete sentence.
Coming to terms with your identity involves learning yourself in safe spaces and also learning what you need in unsafe spaces. But also it’s very important to never feel like it is imperative for you to share your story.
There is no theology that has been created from a completely objective context. We have just been conditioned to accept a white Christianity as the norm and everything else is dismissed as identity politics.
