@cmkshama Private business (incl housing & employment) will stop in a society in which public officials allow and support one group of people taking from another without compensation. At that point, you are left with the govt as the only source of housing, food, and employment.

@cmkshama When landlords worry about whether tenants will pay rent, they will raise the qualifying standards (ie the required income) to ensure rent gets paid. Who will build more housing if they are concerned the rent will get paid? Access & affordability get worse from a rent strike.

@cmkshama The rent strike may feel good, but it does nothing but harm the group it is aiming to help. Housing costs money to provide the utilities, maintenance, and staff.

Who wins when the water is turned off? When the elevator doesn’t get fixed? Tenants lose from arent strike.
