The actions of the police over the weekend have concerned our members. There have been over 100 people arrested for holding a placard. In Liverpool 4 people were arrested.
2/3 One of those was a 74 year old woman who is now virtually under house arrest for 3 months.
We are in danger of losing our right to protest. These rights are enshrined in articles 10 and 11 of EHCR.
If you live in Southport and want to have a say on what frustrates you and how we fix it come along to our next assembly https://t.co/TTWsDmXTpo

This weekend some of our members made the most of the beautiful weather and headed into town for a litter picking session. It was lovely to see so many people enjoying Southport in the sun and we enjoyed chatting to people about the things we're getting up to in the community
On June 14th, something historic is brewing in Merseyside. Community independents from across Merseyside –local champions, grassroots campaigners and fed-up residents – are coming together to say enough is enough.
No more career party politics. No more empty promises. This is a better way of doing politics, with @LIndependents@SouthportComInd - supported by Collective and @corbyn_project
The @LIndependents and @SouthportComInd councillors joined today's @LivvHousing strike march for a living wage this morning.
Next time let's see more representation from Labour and the Greens please.
Solidarity is a participatory sport.
We joined @LIndependents this morning at the @LivvHousing dispute. Housing associations have managed to turn social housing into a nightmare with workers exploited at one end and tenants under serviced at the other. This strike shows how broken our social housing system is.
