Stonehenge yesterday. Very dry, dead grass showing disturbances underground. Straight-angled rectangles are 1950s/60s re-erection pits & concrete. Circular patches are older, unexcavated prehistoric pits: bronze age Y/Z Holes, & (larger feature) a pit for mising stone in circle

The great west window in the Abbey��s nave is a wonderful example of 18th-century stained glass. Designed by Sir James Thornhill and dating from 1735, it shows Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the Twelve Tribes of Israel.
