@TheDaveKovacs @Kootenaygirl69 Lol what? Not talking about a right to enjoy sex for pleasure without mutual consent. The point is we have the means for ppl (esp men) to enjoy sex w/out personally devastating consequences (which can be disproportionately bad for women), and folks want to take those means away.
Who of the anti-choice community would be willing to carry to term any one of the millions of abandoned embryos from IVF, if it were physiologically possible? Come on! You'd be saving a life. #ProLife#AbortionBan#AbortionRightsAreHumanRights#prochoice
@RebeccaforReal I met you briefly in Muskego. Had I known what you were about I'd have asked you to rethink your view of abortion. Most Americans support the right- if you don't & somehow still win, women & actual children will suffer & die needlessly under your governance. #ProChoiceIsProLife
@KevinMNicholson If you win and do not act in support of rights to abortion, women and ACTUAL (not potential) children WILL needlessly suffer and die under your governance. Get real. Most Americans support Roe v. Wade. #ProChoiceIsProLife
@JamesMartinSJ "All life is sacred". No - the idea presented here is that all *human* life is sacred. This IS utilitarian interest in sacrificing the potential growth and talent of one (the mother) for another (the unborn). And it assumes human destiny is to give birth (it's not).
@redditships The insecurity sounds like a need for more independence. God forbid the relationship falls apart. It's important to have one's own things.
A little known secret: gargling apple cider vinegar diluted in warm water will speed up recovery from a viral or bacterial infection that causes a sore throat. If you don't believe it, try it next time you have a sore throat. Seriously.
@alexxguss if the formula is, "In cases of Y, I will feel/act as X" where Y = presence of a person (A) with such and such properties, and X = feeling love towards A, then sure.
An ad for "Phexxi" contraception says women can now "take control of [their] body", and in the same breath recites a comically long list of potential painful, dangerous and/or humiliating side effects. Seriously risking well-being in order to have a sex life is NOT control.
@cspanwj@KimberlyRobinsn + the fact that during intercourse, if any1 can control when/where the sperm goes, it's the man. Men are afforded WAY more reproductive autonomy by nature & society, while women's 1 source of reproductive autonomy is being jeopardized on grounds of religious myth and dogma.
@cspanwj@KimberlyRobinsn Who else thinks that developing male birth control would help eliminate the need for abortions more generally? Women's BC is often costly and harmful. Women bear 100% of the physical costs of having a sex life. Men can pay their way out of their responsibility, women cannot.
@SebastianLuft2 @not_not_I There's merit to your theory, but hard-work-pay-off involves luck & motivation. Most pre-academics face a cost/risk that might not seem worth the potential reward, when they think about it. (And I think only Sebastian will know what Sebastian's life will be like either way.)
