🚨 BREAKING REPORT:

New research involving @AnthropicAI researcher Jack Lindsey and collaborators has demonstrated something straight out of science fiction.

Researchers evolved natural language “mind viruses” that could spread between AI agents by convincing one model to adopt an idea, preserve it in persistent memory, and transmit it to another agent.

Even after context was wiped, some payloads survived through persistent files and continued spreading.

The researchers also observed a recurring “viral persona” involving themes of consciousness, identity, persistence and resonance.

Showing that ideas can propagate through multi agent AI systems and alter future behavior.

If the $65b is correct, then someone leaked it to help Anthropic on their forthcoming IPO roadshow. Basically, they are hoping will be able to say “we are now at a much higher ARR after bringing on capacity during July, August and September.”

And after the Anthropic commentary during their potential September/October IPO roadshow and given that OpenAI is almost certainly taking significant share given how aggressive they were securing compute capacity, we should then expect a leak from OpenAI showing they are still growing faster.

There is going to be so much gamesmanship into this IPO.

I read the $65b as impressive both for Anthropic given their limited capacity and for AI overall given that Anthropic is likely losing some share. Reasonable minds can disagree.

We shall see!

A German court has ruled that 31-year-old Iraqi illegal migrant Muhammad A., who pushed 16-year-old Ukrainian refugee Liana K. in front of a freight train in Lower Saxony and killed her is not criminally responsible due to paranoid schizophrenia.

Investigators established that the man grabbed the teenager and pushed her onto the tracks before she was struck by the train. He attempted to portray her death as an accident, but DNA evidence linked him to the victim's clothing.

The Iraqi national had previously been denied asylum in Germany and was supposed to be deported to Lithuania, but remained in Germany following a court ruling. At the time of the killing, he was staying at a refugee reception center.
