I strongly disagree with this framing. The killings are horrific, but turning every attack into a “Muslims vs Christians” narrative is dangerous and dishonest.

Just last week in Sokoto alone, more than 40 Muslims, including Islamic clerics and chief imams, were reportedly killed by terrorists. We didn’t call it a war against Muslims or Islam. The same suffering is happening in Adamawa, Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna, Kebbi and Niger.

As someone who follows these conflicts closely, I believe we should condemn the killers for what they are without using the victims to fuel religious division.
