I am honored to serve as the 75th Governor of Virginia.
It is with a profound sense of duty to all Virginians that I assume the Governorship and pledge myself to work tirelessly on behalf of our Commonwealth — our home.
🚨NEWS:

Tarun Mehta was a wonderful partner to his beloved wife, Leslie, and a loving father. His loss will be felt deeply.
Leslie and Blair — we love you and we are holding you in our hearts and prayers.

Childcare affordability matters for families across Virginia.
Yesterday, @GovernorVA signed 2 major bills into law to expand child care access, reduce waitlists, and help working parents afford care.
Virginia Senate Democrats are delivering for families.
Today I hosted our Regional Readiness Summit in Richmond with local police chiefs, sheriffs, fire chiefs, emergency management personnel, law enforcement officers, and additional partners. Over the past several years alone, the Commonwealth of Virginia has faced enormous challenges: catastrophic flooding, active shooter incidents, devastating fires, bomb threats, and water crises that have profoundly impacted our communities and our neighbors.
As a region — and as a Commonwealth — we have responded. Again and again.
Our Regional Readiness Summits are opportunities to make sure that we are ready to respond to major incidents that cross jurisdictional borders and job responsibilities.
Gov. @SpanbergerForVA: The idea that you are paying more than a mortgage to have your children in quality childcare is an issue that impacts all of us. It is not sustainable and frankly it's not acceptable. What I'm signing today is a response to the reality that we face as a Commonwealth. We're creating the Employee Child Care Assistance Program, a new tool that incentivizes employers to help their employees pay for childcare with the state matching those contributions. This is one of the ways that we can make childcare more affordable without putting the entire burden on families or on the government alone.
For seventy years, on this hillside overlooking the James River, Virginians have gathered on Memorial Day to remember our neighbors who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Every single year, we have come back here, together, to say in one unified voice: we have not forgotten you.
Grateful to have gotten to spend time with Stephen Colbert on his witty, wonderful Late Show this January.
Wishing him nothing but the best in his next chapter. What a career so far — and so much more to come!
In Virginia, a typical worker who takes four weeks of unpaid leave loses more than $3,600 in income.
Access to paid family and medical leave lowers costs for working families. That's why I'm proud to sign legislation that provides up to 12 weeks of paid family & medical leave for Virginians.
Yet another disappointing Court decision (after 3,000,000+ Virginians voted).
What do we do with our outrage? We WIN in November.
Volunteer, donate, vote, WIN.

The Supreme Court of the United States has now joined the Supreme Court of Virginia in choosing to nullify an election and the votes of more than three million Virginians.
These Virginians made their voices heard — casting their ballots in good faith to push back against a President who said he’s “entitled” to more seats in Congress before voters go to the polls.
As Governor, I will make sure voters know when and how to cast their votes this year. Because our votes are how we choose the representation we deserve.
Today, the Supreme Court temporarily maintained nationwide access to mifepristone through telehealth services and mail-order. This order does not provide certainty to patients and providers across the Commonwealth who worry their access to safe, essential healthcare is in jeopardy.
Virginia is the only state in the South that has not further restricted access to reproductive care, contraception, or birth control since the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Our Commonwealth is the last bastion in the South when it comes to protecting reproductive freedom, and I understand our responsibility at this moment.
I will continue to work to pursue every available avenue to ensure women can access care, uphold Virginians’ right to privacy, and protect fundamental freedoms for all families. And we will pass our constitutional amendment guaranteeing reproductive rights in November.
Because of the bills I signed today, when your family needs care, you can get it.
From capping the monthly out-of-pocket cost of insulin at $35 to cracking down on prior authorization delays, we are taking action to bring down healthcare costs.
