Asmodeus raised an eyebrow at her words before moving his hand from under his chin to pick up and examine the paper.
After reading a bit, he looked at her again as his eyes shined with unshed tears.
She was pregnant, his beautiful wife was pregnant with his child-
pulling a paper from her pocket with her free hand and setting it on the table.
“Well, your— um— your Christmas present is gonna be a few months late… but it’s coming soon.”
for a moment he had a thought of if he'd be a good enough father to their child but quickly dispersed it as he turned his head to kiss her palm "Rei...I-"
He paused and swallowed hard, releasing her hand as he stood up and went to where she sat, picking her up in his arms as-
He felt his face grow hot as she tucked a curl behind his ear, he put down his fork to hold her hand against his cheek as he met her soft gaze
"Oh? What is it my love?"
“That’s good,” she cooed, looking around his office before back to him with a softer look, reaching over and tucking one of his curls behind his ear.
“Um, I came here for something else other than making sure you ate, actually.”
Asmodeus chuckled and put a hand under his chin as he looked at her, his other hand with his fork poised over the bento bowl
"That is very true," he paused briefly at her question, diverting his gaze for a moment before responding -
Asmodeus returned to his seat and pulled the bento box toward him, he always loved the way she knew exactly when he wasn't taking the best care of himself.
"You spoil me too much, you know that right?" He said teasingly as he opened a drawer in his desk that contained-
His smile was enough to ease her fried nerves. It’d be okay. It’d all be okay.
She walked over to the chair he had pulled, sitting in it and giving him a smile back, setting the bento on the desk and pointing.
“Well, first, eat. I know you haven’t. It’s pork belly and rice.”
