Eid Mubarak to all celebrating across the UK and around the world. 🌙✨
Wishing everyone a peaceful and joyful Eid al-Adha filled with faith, family and community spirit.
We stand with Muslim communities in celebrating the values of compassion, sacrifice and unity. #EidMubarak #EidAlAdha
🌍 Diaspora communities are not just remittance senders- they are strategic partners in trade, investment, innovation and global development.
Looking forward to convening this official side event during the #Global Partnerships Conference 2026 in London.
We are pleased that speakers from the following organisations will be joining the dialogue: @AfricanUnion, @AfDB_Group, @AFFORD_UK and @FLAIRSummit.
The event will bring together ministers, parliamentarians, trade envoys, ambassadors/high commissioners, DFIs, business leaders and diaspora stakeholders to explore how diaspora communities can help shape future global partnerships — including conversations towards the UK’s G20 agenda for 2027.

A powerful discussion this week at the @LabourAfricanN International Women’s Day Parliamentary Roundtable in Westminster.
Thank you to @SarahChampionMP ,Chair of the Women & Equalities Select Committee, for expertly chairing, and to all MPs and participants who joined us.
We explored the lived experiences of Black women in the workplace, the intersection of race and gender, and what more employers, government, unions and society must do to deliver real equality.
Next steps: LAN will be writing to the TUC General Secretary and Ministers highlighting the issues raised and the call to action.
Thank you to Community Union for supporting the post-event dinner.

As a network committed to equality and unity, we support @SadiqKhan’s courage in speaking out.
Racist abuse leaves wounds that last a lifetime — acknowledging that pain and defending victims is the only way forward.
We reaffirm our call for empathy, fairness and respect for all. 💙 #Solidarity #OneLondon
Powerful words from @DavidLammy.
Progressives can and must win again.
With allies like David, our movement for justice and equality grows stronger every day. 🌹

What kind of politician would lobby against their own country?
Nigel Farage encouraged the US to slap trade sanctions on Britain. That could cost every U.K. household £350.
That’s why I wrote to him to demand answers.
Nigel Farage: fake patriot https://t.co/rNLaQiPHxP
Why did @Nigel_Farage give a platform at Reform conference to a dangerous anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist?
Disinformation about vaccines costs lives. Giving airtime to someone peddling these corrosive lies is deeply irresponsible.
We need answers.
Today, I joined the Mayor of Accra to announce the first partner memorial to Victims of Transatlantic Slavery. This historic artwork will connect to the landmark memorial we’re creating in London.
Now, more than ever, we must confront these difficult parts of our history.
Positive to Chair a packed roundtable with @HMDessalegn@Labour_african & @TradeMarkAfrica discussing how the UK can best continue our support for the vital @AfCFTA agenda.
Many productive contributions from Trade Envoys, African High Commissioners/Ambassadors & business leaders.
Congratulations to @DavidLammy on 25 years as an MP! Your dedication to justice, equality, and tireless work for our communities—especially African and Caribbean communities—continues to inspire. Here’s to many more years of impactful service. 🇬🇧✊🏾 #Labour#DavidLammy25
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Uriah Rennie, the first Black referee in the Premier League. A true trailblazer and inspiration.
Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who admired his legacy.

Africa must end the exports of its raw materials. The export of raw materials is the door to poverty. The export of value-added products is the highway to wealth. And Africa is tired of being poor.
The King, as Head of the Commonwealth, received The Hon. Shirley Botchwey upon her appointment as the new Commonwealth Secretary-General at Windsor Castle this morning.

This isn’t an isolated case — many in the diaspora share similar experiences with @flyethiopian. It’s deeply unfortunate and needs investigation. @UK_CAA, what protections exist for British flyers facing delays, damaged baggage, and unpaid claims on international airlines?
As a Pan-Africanist, I chose to fly @flyethiopian over other options — but I’ve faced delayed & damaged baggage, months-long claim delays, and no compensation despite approval.
Add poor customer service, and it feels like a betrayal.
This isn’t the standard Africa deserves.
Thank you, @AnnelieseDodds, for your inspiring leadership in the Cabinet and your dedication to the UK Labour African Network and global development.
Your service has made a real difference—wishing you every success ahead and will continue to work with you!
