@BiggestRonald@rhunterh Agreed. Normally I've seen people switch to GNP to deal with this but GNP is only 1.00418 times GDP and doesn't seem to explain that much more. Not sure if GNP itself is missing out on things so if you know a better data point to use let me know
@rhunterh Federal deficit seems to become corporate surplus, and deficit growth has resulted in huge share gains for capital. Best guess would be some gradual shift in societal attitudes that, even more gradually, gets reflected in policy. Not currently betting on this in any way though
@hfreflection Everybody has a cash prize, usually no more than a couple grand. Main differentiator is the quality of judges and whether participants have a shot at interviews. Covering travel/housing expenses is a great way to stand out too. U Mich's UIC is the most well-known.
