The church is in a weird spot right now.

On one hand, we have record-low attendance (30ish percent of members on our roll attend sacrament) and apathy, to the point where people refuse callings, refuse to speak in church, and tell me they’ll only meet with our bishop

@bentleyjmitch When you have a ward of 70 people, participation matters. Not participating isn’t acceptable.

These folks refuse to meet because they don’t like our bishop. Tough nuts. We’ve got work to do, we can’t let personal squabbles in the way.

And that’s the problem. No one’s nice.

Genuinely the worst ward I’ve ever been in from an activity and fellowship standpoint.

On the other hand, we have tons of missionaries out for a ward our size, baptized a family this year, and 2 men became new elders.

I’m legitimately bummed that we don’t get a lot of snow where I live. I miss seeing the snow-covered landscape, working inside by the fireplace when it’s a blizzard outside.
