Why is it difficult (yet necessary) to root out Hezbollah and destroy its terrorist infrastructure, stockpiles, and means of movement?

Because this is what they’ve built: sophisticated tunnels - with lighting, comms, and rail transport - drilled through solid rock as deep as 20 stories below the surface.

This tunnel near Shtula under the Israel-Lebanon border (aka right under the UN’s nose) was discovered and sealed by the IDF during Operation Northern Shield.
