Thank you to the Sammamish Independent for covering our race! I answered every question. Despite multiple tries, they couldn't reach Rep. Kim Schrier before the story ran.

Teddy Roosevelt was born 168 years ago today. He protected about 230 million acres of public land.
Rep. Schrier now wants a day-use reservation system for the Enchantments.
Turning people away isn't the fix. Better management is.

Zero PAC money taken in this race. Not one dollar.
I answer to the people of the 8th District, and no one else.

Our public lands belong to the American people, and right now too much of them is closed.
The Little Giant Fire burned nearly 173,000 acres, the largest wildfire in Chelan County history. Storm damage has the Chiwawa River Road closed through 2027. Landslides buried Ida Creek and Johnny Creek campgrounds up the Icicle. In Stehekin, last December's flood washed out Company Creek Road. Ten months later, more than two dozen residents still can't drive to their homes, and the repair is stalled in court with no date to reopen. At Mount Rainier, the Fairfax Bridge has been closed since April 2025, leaving no road to Carbon River or Mowich Lake.
Less access means more bottlenecks at places that are already overcrowded.
In Congress, I'll push for active forest management to cut wildfire risk, and for getting roads, bridges, trailheads and campgrounds repaired and reopened. These places are one of the best ways to get families and kids outside and off their screens.
I've spent years climbing in these mountains and volunteering on high-lake surveys for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Some of my best memories are from up here with close friends and my kids. I want my kids to be able to make the same memories with their kids someday.

I'm grateful for Deborah and the kids. They're a big reason I'm in this race. I want them, and the generations after them, to have the same opportunities I had.

We spent the day in Snohomish County, and thank you to everyone who showed up! Waving signs, knocking doors and all the groundwork it takes to run a grassroots campaign: none of it happens without you.
This is about leaving Washington better than we found it for the next generation.

The Seattle Times asked us both about the cost of living.
My plan: a first-time homebuyer tax credit, portable mortgages, capital gains relief for seniors who downsize, and cheaper homebuilding.

As a husband, father of four, and small-business owner, I’ve seen firsthand how rising prices, housing costs, taxes, regulations, and decisions made in Washington affect families and local businesses.
We need to make homeownership attainable again, help small businesses create American jobs, and protect our communities and public lands.
But none of that will happen unless government becomes accountable to the people again. That means term limits for Congress, single-issue bills that politicians cannot hide unpopular policies inside, and plain-English transparency showing taxpayers where their money goes.
I’m not running to become a career politician. I’m running to bring a Main Street perspective to Washington, make government work again, and ensure the next generation can own a home, build a business, raise a family, and achieve the American Dream.
Small businesses don’t need more government. They need government to stop standing in their way.
I’m fighting to expand access to capital, modernize SBA lending, and reform outdated tax rules that drain cash from growing businesses.
Main Street creates the jobs. Washington should help clear the runway.

Thousands of Washington families are being impacted by these wildfires.
Our hearts are with everyone who has been forced to evacuate, and we're incredibly grateful for the firefighters, first responders, and volunteers risking everything to protect our communities.
450,000 acres have already burned in Washington this year.
Homes destroyed. Families displaced. Communities filled with smoke and it's only early August. This isn't just bad luck.
It's the result of years of failing to prepare our forests, communities, and infrastructure for the fires we know are coming.
Washington needs a long-term commitment to proven wildfire prevention and community protection.
Instead, we get the same cycle: suppress everything → forests get denser → catastrophic fire → press conference → rinse and repeat.
We can’t stop every fire. But we can stop most of them from turning into disasters. Science is clear. The tools exist. What’s missing is the political will to use them at the scale this crisis demands.
Thin the dense forests. Put fire back on the ground the right way. Harden homes. Fix the ignition sources.
Stop treating this like an unsolvable act of nature when it’s largely a management and leadership failure.
Washington deserves more than watching the same tragedy unfold every summer. The tools exist. The research exists.
Now we need leadership to match the challenge.
On August 4th, you have a choice.
Keep sending the same people back to office and expect the same results, or elect new leaders with new ideas.
