Embark also said they're investigating improvements to Map Conditions, like separate schedules for different timezones.

We now have a map condition tracker! It lists active and upcoming conditions, as well as listing the schedule of all condition types.
You can view active conditions in either of 2 views... a "List" view or a "Timeline" view.
Also, you can get alerts from your browser for individual map condition windows, or for all notifications of a given condition type.

@TheFigen_ The beams are mismatched. He’s sitting on a beam which makes it look solid because it occludes his body. But the other guy has his hand through a supposedly solid beam, for him it’s an opening. Oversight.
Huge changes to matchmaking in ARC Raiders are now live:
• Finally, defending yourself won’t be treated the same way by matchmaking as starting a fight.
• Low interaction rounds have less weight when affecting your matchmaking, so spawning and surrendering a bunch of times to get friendly lobbies won’t be very effective.
Embark will keep tuning these as time goes on.
Next week, Embark is introducing a new mechanic designed for late-game players: a new Trader from a nomadic tribe of surface-dwellers.
The new Trader unlocks at level 25, and he offers unique weekly rotating rewards, rare items, and cosmetics in exchange for your high-value items. Also, he may sometimes ask you to go and find specific rare items to trade.
The new Trader also offers two perks in exchange for high-value items:
• Extra Stash space.
• The Expedition Vault, which allows you to carry over up to five items across the Expedition.
The ARC Raiders development team said their next major update is scheduled for October, and will include:
• A new landscape in the Rust Belt that will be the largest in the game, with layered design and new mysteries to uncover.
• A new ARC Operation - new ARC enemies with fresh designs, and unique behaviors.
• New Systems of Progression, including new goals and more ways to shape your Raider’s progression.
• Exploring the origin of ARC - What ARC are and where they come from.
• Improved Skill Tree.
• New weapons, items, instruments, cosmetics and more.
Embark has just announced major changes to their update schedule for the game.
Major gameplay and content updates will now come out only twice a year so that the developers can focus on making more transformative and significant changes to the game.
Normal bug fixes, balance changes, player events, and store changes will still come out more frequently than that though.
There's a great irony of the Expedition system not being a force wipe for everyone.
Yes, it incentivizes Raiders to play again by wiping them and all of their loot.
But in the process, just before they're wiped, they give away all of the loot in their Stash to Raiders who aren't wiping, who get spoiled with loot.
Now the Raiders who got all the loot become the ones bored and not wanting to play because they don't have anything to work towards.
Also, they immediately turn around and use all the loot against us (they have tons to use carelessly) in PvP as those of us who wiped start to level up from scratch again 🥹
Riven Tides Update is out… and uhh…
Pros:
• New map is nice (but overdue).
• New emphasis on more frequent need to repair weapons and giving another incentive to use higher tier weapons (wear rate) is interesting.
• New Powered Descender and Crash Mat are cool.
• Trigger ‘Nade spam meta is nerfed.
Cons:
• New map is smaller than expected.
• Photoelectric Cloak nerf seems overkill and makes it basically unusable… the time it lasted before was compensating for the fact that you couldn’t do more than walk with it.
• New Beachcombing condition is just rehashed Raider Caches.
• New ARC Turbine is not the Matriarch/Queen scale boss fight we hoped for… how is this any more of a large ARC threat than a Vaporizer?
I don’t think this was the update that anyone was hoping for, and without a new roadmap to look forward to, my hopes for the game’s longevity are not currently high.
I get that... I mean probes already make a ton of noise when you go to breach them. The "trying to get loot and the game trying to call attention to you" dynamic isn't new. Taking a weapon slot doesn't seem like a sacrifice... you just keep your head on a swivel and pull a weapon out when under attack. These do not fundamentally change the gameplay or mechanic.
I just think we're 6 months in and given the recent player drops, we need something big and more fun to reverse this trend.
2 maps in 1 year isn't gonna do it.
This type of rehashed map condition at the 6 month mark isn't gonna do it.
Close Scrutiny is really cool, but I don't see a reason to do it after this project ends, so that has limited shelf life.
It is a little bit different, but same core mechanic. But I was hoping for something that would be very different... things like Locked Gate, or Hidden Bunker.
These are actually different gameplay leading to new crazy moments and social dynamics of working together or actively not working together. Things like puzzles.... all of that. Not just "go in and pick stuff up" reskinned.
The new ARC Turbine does have one huge thing going for it.
One thing ARC Raiders really needs to lean into more is dynamic environments.
That means somewhat randomized high value loot areas, in a different place on the map each match.
That means moving big boss fights around the map... currently the Queen and Matriarch are in the same place every time. Meanwhile there's a ton of beautiful map space they painstakingly designed that doesn't really get utilized.
The devs are leaving a ton of fresh and memorable moments on the table because of that, and things get too repetitive.
So the fact that the ARC Turbine moves around the map as a big boss fight means that now you can have that epic fight in a different location every time.
