@MrEncouragement@DavidAFrench We believe the Bible and you can ask Grok to use the Bible as proof text to support the LDS side of your chart. Christians have argued about interpretation of Bible texts since they were written.

@ScipiosGhost@Aidan_Evadin@ThoughtfulSaint@KennyBurchard Is it really more ridiculous that God visited the Americas than Noah having every kind of animal just walk into his ark?
That's exactly why Christians have to have faith. In the absence of faith, the atheist sees the same Bible as a fairytale.
Last night, I got a call from President Trump. During the call, I asked about how the Pentagon had reclassified my faith. He said he would look into it. This morning, he told me it had been fixed. Thank you, President Trump.
We can disagree on whether "Mormons are Christian." That's not what disturbed me about this. I don't want the GOVERNMENT classifying religions. That creates a dangerous tool that shouldn't be in the hands of ANY government.
I don't believe that was Hegseth's goal. But what happens if the power shifts and the "Jesus was nonbinary" camp takes over? Will they recategorize conservative Christians? The Biden administration already tried to link Catholicism to domestic terror.
If that possibility troubles you, then you understand my problem with this whole thing. I don't want the government to declare me a Christian. I want them to stay out of it.
@Wave_E_Gravy@EWErickson I agree, but someone decided on that definition. Webster can define the term, but those in churches gatekeeping the club access don't use the dictionary definition.
If you want a spicy take, one reason conservative Christians from orthodox faiths dislike Mormons so much is that Mormon communities "do" Christianity better than they do. Mormons have lower abortion rates, higher charitable contributions, tend to be super-nice people, etc.
It does seem that the LDS are being unfairly singled out here. If the essential criterion for Christianity is Trinitarian theology, why do the Jehovah’s Witnesses, Christian Scientists, Oneness Pentecostals, and even Quakers (in some instances) get a pass here?
@MrEncouragement@DavidAFrench I've heard all the arguments. You cherry picking verses from one text to compare with another doesn't take the fullness of the Bible teachings into account, nor the fullness of the teachings in the LDS church.
A lot of denominations that disagree w/ Bible interpretations.
@ryanmcj@dilanesper And that's written in the Bible as proof that someone is Christian? Funny He doesn't mention that in John 13:35, John 8:31-32, or Matt 16:24.
@dilanesper@BamaExpat The bigger issue is that the federal government should not be deciding which perceived heresies are important enough to call a denomination Christian or not.
Denominations will continue their infighting until Christ comes, but the government should not be part of it.
@plgrmNprogress@DavidAFrench The state has no business defining who or what is or isn't Christian. You can define Christian differently than the next guy, and the state should not be involved in telling you how you can or cannot define it.
@MrEncouragement@DavidAFrench Tell me you've never had a theological conversation with a Mormon friend without telling me you've never had a theological conversation with a Mormon friend.
@Fair_and_Biased Mormons absolutely believe there are other Christian denominations. They also believe their denomination is correct. Catholics believe they are the one true church. Reformers disagreed & created other churches. Don't all Christians believe their denomination is the correct one?
@LDS_Dems In a primary this is 100% true. In a general election with 2 options, is it better to sit out the election altogether and not participate? Or do you participate in the election and vote for a flawed candidate that best represents your political views?
